Obituary of Karl Kast

Karl M. Kast age 89 died December 14, 2017 at the Martin Linsin Residence surrounded by his family.  He was born August 5, 1928 in Albion, a son of the late Milton and Ernestine (Babbitt) Kast and had lived in this area all of his life.

 

Karl had served in the US Army in the Pacific Theatre Army of Operations.  He graduated from Albion High School Class of 1945 and then attended Cornell University graduating in 1952.  Karl worked for the Albion Post Office for 31 years, retiring in 1985.  He was a member of the Albion United Methodist church.  He enjoyed camping and square dancing and belonged to numerous square dancing clubs.

 

In addition to his parents, Karl was predeceased by his wife Jean whom he married on June 20, 1951.  He is survived by his children Carolyn (Frank) Mueller of Tucson AZ, Donna (Lyle) Trotter of Tucson AZ, Kevin Kast of Albion, Steven Kast of Churchville, Alan (Kim) Kast of Plant City FL; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; his brother William Kast of Hilton; his sister Pauline Broadwell of Waterport and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

There are no prior calling hours.  His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday January 13th at 11:00am at the North Point Chapel,  (formerly the Albion First United Methodist Church on Platt St.) Burial with full Military Rites will be in Mt.
